Rare ISO Double for Dischromatics

Vincent Kane presents Gareth Spencer (left) and Stewart Spencer (right) with the ISO14001 and ISO9001 certificates.

Dischromatics Ltd - the Abercarn based CD and DVD duplication and replication company – has scooped a rare double accreditation to ISO9001 and ISO14001 quality and environmental standards following its very first audit of its integrated system.

The company, established by Managing Director Stewart Spencer in 1989, has also recently become Sony DADC’s largest UK partner, selling more than 1million replicated CDs and DVDs in the process. Mr. Spencer commented, “Accreditation to both ISO standards really is the culmination of much hard work by all staff within the company and will further enhance our reputation with our blue-chip customers such as Panasonic, LG and Lloyds TSB”.

Dischromatics was formed at a time when 5.25” floppy disks were the norm and Britain’s economic climate seemed bleak for entrepreneurs. However, consistently high levels of customer service and shrewd capital investment ensured the company not only survived, but proceeded to evolve, with forays into computing and networking, and finally onto CD and DVD production. This emphasis on investment and innovation continues today, with the acquisition of new machinery, IT equipment including both Macintosh and PC systems and a new website.

Recent orders have been received from new customers in Malta, Germany, France and even Uganda and a forthright and diverse marketing strategy should ensure sustained growth in the customer base. Sales and Marketing Director Gareth Spencer believes that recent successes will lead to greater achievements in the future, saying, “With ISO accreditation and new investment in IT and Training, I am certain that Dischromatics will enjoy a prolonged and sustained period of growth and profitability”
